Weddings • Baby & Family Celebrations • Motherhood Milestones • More
As a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant®, I am available to help mark the most important chapters of your life.
Whether you are getting married, celebrating a new baby, experiencing a special family milestone, or navigating the complexities of motherhood and pregnancy, it would be my honor to help write and officiate a bespoke ceremony just for you. And of course—as a firm believer in the art and importance of story-telling—I will ensure that your story is at the very heart of your ceremony.

Baby / Family Ceremonies
Baby ceremonies may take place shortly after birth or adoption, typically (but not exclusively) in the form of a baby blessing or naming ceremony. Or, a ceremony may be integrated as part of a first birthday celebration or other milestone. In addition, I am happy to work with families celebrating other milestones (including those welcoming older children) to create a ceremony that meets your family’s needs. Baby or Family Celebrations may be designed to welcome and celebrate new members of the family, acknowledge the family’s intentions to nurture and guide, consecrate a new or expanded family unit, and more. Services include:
Custom ceremony, written just for you
Officiation services for ceremony
Same-day rehearsal
Motherhood Ceremonies
A Motherhood Ceremony may happen during pregnancy, during the first year postpartum, or after pregnancy loss. These ceremonies recognize a woman’s unique experience, remind her of her strengths, and consecrate a supportive community that will continue through her transition and/or healing journey. Ceremonies may be held with a large group (perhaps as part of a baby shower), with a small group, or in private. I am also happy to design ceremonies for new fathers and co-parents. Inquire for details. Services include:
Custom ceremony, written just for you
Officiation services for ceremony
Same-day rehearsal
Other Ceremonies
I am holistically trained to design custom ceremonies for life’s milestones, rites-of-passage, and transitions. If you do not see what you need in the list above, please contact me with a description of the type of ceremony you are interested in, and I will be happy to explore this with you.
FAQs
What is a Life-Cycle Celebrant®?
Through rigorous study, Life-Cycle Celebrants® are trained to create bespoke ceremonies that reflect the needs, beliefs, and values of their clients. Life-Cycle Celebrants® are certified by the Celebrant Foundation & Institute and abide by a code of ethics and nondiscrimination policy.
What is the process?
First, let’s meet for a free no-obligation consultation. If we are a match, I will ask you to complete an agreement, questionnaire, and interview. I will then craft a bespoke ceremony just for you, which you can edit until you are completely satisfied. I will conduct a rehearsal (if desired), and officiate your ceremony.
Do you conduct rehearsals?
Yes. I encourage rehearsals to help ensure that everything runs smoothly. Even if my clients do not wish to schedule a full rehearsal, I always try to meet them in person the day before (or morning of) to go over everything and ensure they feel prepared and relaxed for their special day.
Why choose a Life-Cycle Celebrant®?
A Life-Cycle Celebrant® is trained to work creatively and collaboratively with you to create a custom ceremony that reflects everything you want (and nothing that you don’t). He/she will create a ceremony that reflects your beliefs, philosophy and personality, with your story at its center.
Can I customize my ceremony?
Yes, as much as you’d like! I will write every word and part of your ceremony—you will not be asked to select from a menu of limited options. Your preferences and feedback will guide the entire process to create a unique, meaningful ceremony that is just what you’ve dreamed.
What if I am not religious?
That’s totally fine! Whether you identify as spiritual, agnostic, atheist, or somewhere in between, we can create a meaningful ceremony that only includes language and elements that reflect your beliefs. For couples, we can also explore ways to incorporate blended beliefs and traditions, as desired.
What are your credentials?
I am a certified Life-Cycle Celebrant® through the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, an educational nonprofit devoted to training and certifying professionals in the art of ritual and ceremony. I am ordained and legally authorized to solemnize marriage in New York State.
Do you officiate multi-cultural weddings?
Yes, I am trained to creatively incorporate and blend ceremony elements to meet your unique needs and considerations.
Do you officiate destination weddings?
I am happy to consider working with couples who wish to be legally married in New York but hold their ceremony elsewhere.
Do you officiate LGBTQ weddings?
Of course! And I will never knowingly work with wedding professionals who do not support marriage equality.
